Backstory: Corelle little of his past, he doesn't remember at all about his parents of his life before becoming part of Team Tranqua; what he does remember is his time with them and he knows only of that forgotten past what he was told or what is evident.
When Corelle was a small child of only about 4 he was out with his parents observing wild pokemon, they'd gone to watch a stampede of Tauros but had stopped at the top of the slope for a picnic. With the warning of 'don't go near the edge' Corelle was given permission to explore the forest a bit around them, but eventually he came to edge of the slope. It wasn't steep or anything, but it wasn't the same one they'd come up. The ground was softer and when the boy moved to the edge the ground slid out from under his feat and left him sliding down to the lower land on which the rumbling of the approaching stampede could be felt.
His parents didn't notice him until the stampede was almost upon him and both descended the slope in attempt to save him but without success. The three were caught in the trampling hooves of the tauros, his parents were killed while Corelle had remained some how miraculously kind of alive.
They hadn't been the only ones who had been there to watch the stampede, a scientist from Babylon City who had originally studied pokemon but had come to take an interest in human anatomy.
The scientist took Corelle back and fixed him, replacing what was damaged with an artificial substitution. Corelle still remained unconscious for several week, slipping into and being shocked out of cardiac arrest a total of 13 times. During this time the scientist, among many others of his caliber of knowledge were taken prisoner by Team Tranqua and forced to do much of their research.
The unconscious Corelle had come along also, and in the time they were there finally woke up. The slight tweaks to his body were considered something useful and so he was kept there until he was old enough to become a grunt. He gained the title at 15 but easily in a year he'd made it to the ranks just under being among one of the commanders since he'd still started his training with his pokemon long before that age. Though, he was still considered a bit too young for that post. Corelle begged to differ.

Reason for Joining: There isn't much else he remembers, and the thought of finding anything about his past has hardly crossed his mind. He does remember the bits of the stampede and is completely terrified of tauros (also quite afraid of electric type pokemon) and he believes that most pokemon are an unnatural part of this world. Or more, that these creatures shouldn't be the ones wielding this elemental power.

Other:Corelle doesn't like electric type because his body may be prone to shorting out around them as much of it is bionic. (Parts of his right hand, left eye, several internal organs, half his jaw, left thigh) His left eye can magnify to see things that are farther away and can also vaguely sense heat (but not from far distances) it also serves as a sort of pokedex and allows him photographic memory with the help of chips in his brain. These chips were partly necessary, he'd received plenty of damage to the head in the incident so most of them were there to keep it working properly and avoid him getting amnesia or even cerebral palsy. The other chips were for storing information, they were probably the only reason he made it so far in Team Tranqua. The chips gave him a very wide capacity for training knowledge, and are pretty much specialized in taking in battle techniques. This does make him a formidable opponent, however, the simplicity he found in ordinary training bored him and he took more of an interest in Coordination. He's never competed in a competition however, or in a gym for that matter.

Reason why they don't run away: Though Corelle rarely even uses Flygon for anything but transportation, it originally belonged to the scientist but was given to him as he could no longer use him where it was now, it stays with Corelle to stay close ti its original owner and because that is what the scientist wanted.
