"You never know. He might have done something special for you when we return. He might plan a special outing for just the two of you."

"I doubt it. I've given him more than enough to keep him busy in my absence besides even if it were so I simply don't have the time. I AM employed you know, required to work so many hours a week to cover what I am PAID to do."

"Oh." Mikani runs her fingers gently over Kingdra's blue scales. "You mean they don't give you any vacation time? That is horrible! You should defiantly go on strike until they agree to our demands."

"Oh? OUR demands? For what might I ask?" Maple said raising an eyebrow suspiciously, "I love my work so what need would I have to go on strike."

"You should go on strike to get vacation time to come see me in Blackthorn City. You have to admit that you will miss me when I leave."

Mikani nods and says, "Hopefully you can come see me once in a while. You are a person who can truly be called a friend and I haven't had much luck running into anyone like that for a while." She looks away from Maple and focuses her attention on Flygon as she begins to softly hum the lullaby once again.

"I'll try, its hard to secure inter-regional travel since it takes so long to get to most. If the Pokemon couldn't have made it to Orre in less than a day I would've arranged an alternate mode of getting there," she smiled and looked at the horizon, laying softly against Gyarados scale serpentine form.

Mikani her arms around Kingdra's neck. She closes her eyes and listens closely to the sound of the ocean and the cries of the wild pokemon. Her mind begins to wander to when her mother and father first brought her to Orre. As she begins to think about those sad thoughts she begins to feel a slight pain in her arm. She thinks curiously, "Can Salamence feel my emotions and thoughts also? I should talk to Ren and see if he knows anything about this."

After a bit Maple broke Mikani out of her emotional reverie. Gyarados placed Maple on the edge of a small islet and she returned Gyarados, "We have to fly from here...the waters and whirlpools are too strong for even large Pokemon to safety traverse."

She pulled out a Pokeball and released an Altaria for flight.

Mikani releases her arms from around Kingdra's neck as Flygon lands next to Maple. She walks onto the islet and reaches into her bag on Flygon's back. She pulls out a pokeball and returns Kingdra back into her pokeball. She climbs onto Flygon's back and says, "Okay. If I fall asleep don't wake me up unless Rei is around. I want about two minutes to get ahead start on running away."

Maple looked at her with a blank stare mirroring her confusion, "Okay but I don't think he is going to considering he has gone to assist his brother in finding his missing niece. So.....what do you think of Rei?"

Maple asked as she got on Altaria and it took to the skies.

"Not really. I'm not avoiding the question, I just don't know what the answer is right now. To be honest with you I don't know what I think. It is very hard to tell if I like him as a friend or if I want to hurt him because of the bond."
