"No, no he has not," she said with a tone of finality; it was true Ren had never kissed her.

"Really? I would have thought he had considering how close you two are." Mikani looks ahead and see some of the land of Orre. "Is that Orre?"

"Yes, that is Orre. We will be landing at Gateon Port and from there we'll walk to the Pokemon Lab. Just because he is a friend of mine doesn't mean he has right to kiss me; to my knowledge no one allows their "friends" to kiss them unless they allow the relationship to go further than friendship."

"Oh..." Mikani blushes and looks away from Maple quickly as she remembers when she kissed Rei on the cheek.

"Why?" said Maple looking back as Altaria angled down to land with a soft coo of delight. Gateon Port had WONDERFUL weather and Altaria loved it there.

Flygon follows Altaria as Mikani says, "The only type of affection I have ever been around was love. My parents never told me about any of the other stuff about those feeling, like how it begins or how it evolves into that." Mikani thinks about her mom and dad. "Hey Maple, I was wondering if you could do something for me."

"What is that?" Maple said, softly stroking Altaria's side as she returned it to its Pokeball.

Mikani scratches Flygon's head and returns him to his pokeball. She asks curiously, "I was wondering if you could find out who I really am. You know see if my late parents were really my parents. She looks at Maple. And to see if there is anything different about me other than my bond with Salamence."

"Well, I have my father's eyes and hair color but that is about it and I don't have any features that would link me to my mom. And I don't want to deal with anymore surprises. The fact that I'm bonded to a shadow pokemon was a shock." She calls out Rapidash. Rapidash paws at the ground with her hoof as she swings her head back and forth. Mikani hoists herself on Rapidash's back and looks at Maple. "Do you want to ride with me?"

She took Mikani's proffered ride by extending her hand out to get help on getting up, "Hmmmmm. Well, of course I can do it with your consent however I cannot do it away from the lab."

Mikani grabs Maple's hand and helps her up to sit behind her on Rapidash. "That's fine. I figured once we get back and if you aren't busy with anything you could take a look into this for me." Mikani holds onto Rapidash's mane as she says, "You might want to hang onto me." Rapidash takes off and runs swiftly to the lab.

Mikani thinks about what Maple says for a moment and thinks, "After everything that has happened I don't think I do anymore." Rapidash slows as she nears the lab.

Once they got there a Professor with brown hair came out of the lab, "Ah, Professor Maple. Always a pleasure to see you," he turned to Mikani, "You Terrans don't know how lucky you are to have such a bright, young professor as Maple."

Maple laughed lightly about the first time Mikani had seen her laid back, "Stop exaggerating, Professor Krane. This is my escort, Mikani. She isn't quite from Terra."

Mikani slid off of Rapidash's back and offered her hand to help Maple down. "Actually I'm from Blackthorn City and my name is Mika."

Maple took her hand and slipped off. Professor Krane approached them, "So I heard from Lily that you wish to study my Purification chamber. Any reason why?"

"I unfortunately think there maybe a need for it in the near future. Terra is alive with whispers and hints about the same Shadow Pokemon threat."

Mikani strokes Rapidash's neck and calls her back into the pokeball. She pulls a different pokeball out of her bag and says as she releases the pokemon inside it, "I don't think whispers and hints covers this very well." As the white light fades Salamence is left standing next to Mikani. Mikani grabs her right arm quickly as the burning pain from the bond with Salamence begins to take over her arm once more.

"Professor Maple, this is a Shadow Pokemon but this Salamence isn't ready for purification. Not even close."

"I am aware of that, Professor Krane. I believe I might have to replicate your Purification Chamber to dispel the crisis taking root in Terra. Mikani simply wants to learn how to purify Salamence best while she is here."
